Il Belvedere - Matera

the terrace view is fine and perfect. the breakfast lacks local options.

The location was brilliant, at a walking distance from an art museum. The staff was great and good with advice and suggestions.

The location was unbeatable and nice, just a short walk away from Fontana Ferdinandea Fountain. And the area was safe, just next door to Easy to reach, the center of town and Sassi di Matera. There were a work desk, tea/coffee making equipment, and television in my comfort king room. I was offered a very good and delicious breakfast with stunning views of the Sassi and muesli, as example...

The cave room was lovely! Enjoyed lovely breakfasts on the terrace with the fine view of the city. The staff was super helpful. Only downside was no laundry service 😅

The breakfast was very good and delicious, there was good choice of food to chose from. I stayed in tastefully decorated room with exellent bed and a lovely bathroom, for instance as expected. Location: the hotel was very close to the pathway, a cave, and the train station.

Our well-equipped room was complete with large window and the terrace, as example. Central location was a plus.

The grotto room was beautifully atmospheric, with a romantic ambiance. Breakfast on the sun terrace was a real treat, complemented by the fine views. Staff were cute and provided excellent service (especially with local tips!).

What a fantastic find! The hotel's terrace has an amazing view of the sassi. It's a short stroll to attractions like the fine Chiesa del Purgatorio and the beautiful Palazzo del Sedile.

Unfortunately, the parking situation made our arrival quite stressful as it was inconvenient and somewhat confusing to navigate. The hotel's location was tricky to find. We also faced steep stairs leading to the breakfast area, exhausting after a long day of exploring.

Rooms are so small you can barely turn around, and the so-called 'cave smell' is just charming, right? To top it off, no laundry services at all. As if my stay wasn't inconvenient enough, a welcome gift should've been a given! Just couldn't bring myself to give this place more than a mediocre rating.

Had a gorgeous view from the patio-talk about Instagram material! The cave room was spacious and dry, a rare find for a cave hotel. Plus, we loved the short tunnel entrance.

But oh dear, those stairs! I seemed like I was training for the Olympics just trying to get to breakfast-definitely not for the faint of heart!

Il Belvedere offers amazing views of the Sassi, particularly from the terrace where I enjoyed good breakfasts. The cave room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with excellent amenities that added to my comfort. The staff were genuinely accommodating, providing helpful local tips.

Il belvedere is such a gem! We got upgraded to a fine suite with amazing terrace views for breakfast. The staff was super friendly and helped us with recommendations. It's only 5 minutes from the main sights!

The room was spacious and beautifully decorated in the cave theme. Loved having a mini-bar with affordable drinks! The bathroom was great too, with a sizable shower. One downside was the bed. It squeaked a lot, hard for us to sleep soundly. Otherwise, it was a cozy stay!
